National U19 Women's Tournament 2024: Son La has first win

Thanh Vũ |

Son La just had a complete victory against Zantino Vinh Phuc in round 8 of the National U19 Women's Tournament - ACECOOK Cup 2024.

The earliest match of round 8 is the match between Son La and Zantino Vinh Phuc taking place on the afternoon of October 11. Son La can be considered the team with the "strange" results when they have only lost 1 out of 7 matches played but have never won. Therefore, coach Luong Van Chuyen and his team are very hopeful to win the first 3 points of this year's season.

After the opening whistle, Son La rushed to attack and pressured Zantino Vinh Phuc. With a combat-ready force and experience in the national women's championship, Son La caused the opponent's defense a lot of trouble. The mountain strikers only lacked a bit of sharpness to score a goal.

By the end of the first half, Son La's efforts were rewarded. In the 25th minute, Son La was awarded a free kick right in front of the penalty area. Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh's free kick sent the ball hitting the Zantino Vinh Phuc wall and the opening goal of the match came to Son La. With the goal, coach Luong Van Chuyen's students played even better.

They maintained a good enough position to prevent Zantino Vinh Phuc's attacks. The first half passed without any more goals being scored. In the second half, Zantino Vinh Phuc tried to push up the formation to find an equalizer. However, the Northern representative did not show any effectiveness.

In the 89th minute, Quynh Anh still had a beautiful long-range shot from outside the penalty area to seal a 2-0 victory for Son La. For the first time since the beginning of the tournament, Son La had the joy of a complete victory. They had 9 points and were equal to the 3rd place team, Thai Nguyen T&T.
