PPA Tour Asia has somewhat become familiar to Vietnamese pickleball enthusiasts, when tennis player Trinh Linh Giang won the men's singles event at this tournament under the system with the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, taking place from July 4 to 6.
In the near future, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to watch the top atmosphere of the world's leading tournament system right in their hometown, when the Vietnam Open is scheduled to be held in September 2025.
Vietnam is emerging as a new "hot spot" for pickleball with a growth rate of 152% in 2024 alone, and currently has more than 16 million regular players. As the fastest growing market for this sport in Asia, Vietnam is ready for the moment to welcome a professional pickleball playground.
PPA Tour Asia builds a system of three levels: Slam, Cup and Open - with the accumulated score deciding the ranking on the PPA Tour Asia rankings, where players compete for the No. 1 regional title.
Vietnam Open will be organized by UPA Asia, the owner of a professional and leading grassroots pickleball competition system in the region, and New Sports Joint Stock Company, a pioneer in developing a multi-sport ecosystem in Vietnam, with the ability to organize a comprehensive tournament from grassroots to professional level.

In the past year, New Sports has successfully organized major tournaments such as the Vietnam Pickleball Open Cup system and the first North People's Public Security Pickleball Tournament in 2025.
The Vietnam Open, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, will be the final stop in the four- tournament series of PPA Tour Asia. The journey started with the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, followed by the stage in Hong Kong (China) from August 21 to 24 and the Sansan Fukuoka Open (26-31.8), before ending in Vietnam. It is expected that the tournament in Ho Chi Minh City will be called MB Vietnam Open 2025.
This will also be an important milestone, marking the beginning of making Vietnam a prominent destination on the international Pickleball map, while creating a foundation to host the Slam - the largest scale tournament in the PPA Tour Asia system in the future.
The series of Asian tournaments will continue the resounding success of the opening stage in Malaysia, where Trinh Linh Giang shined alongside many regional stars. Indian athlete Vanshik Kapadia nearly won the Triple Crown when he won the men's doubles championship with Harsh Mehta and won the gold medal in the men's and women's doubles with Nicola Schoeman (Australia).
The UPA Asia Trailblazers women's duo that just impressed at the Orange County Cup also exploded with Yufei Long's women's singles championship after saving the match point, while Jamie Wei paired with Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall (USA) and crowned the women's doubles.
