On October 25, Hoang Anh Gia Lai was banned by the International Football Federation (FIFA) from registering new players both domestically and internationally due to its dispute with Martin Dzilah.
FIFA's ban will remain in effect until Hoang Anh Gia Lai fulfills its financial obligations to the player as decided by the World Football Federation.
After this decision of FIFA, Hoang Anh Gia Lai has official information about the incident.
The mountain town football team said that on March 21, 2024, at the office in Pleiku, they and Martin Dzilah agreed to terminate the contract, with the amount of 20,000 USD transferred to Dzilah as committed. Dzilah also signed to confirm that he had received this amount in full.
However, on August 30, 2024, FIFA requested Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club to pay an additional 29,000 USD to Dzilah based on the player's complaint, in which Dzilah claimed that the club had terminated the contract for an unjustified reason and had not fulfilled its financial obligations.
"In response to this incident, we have sent a written appeal to FIFA to clarify the nature of the incident. In addition, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club has sent a written document to the competent authorities of the Vietnamese State asking for intervention to clarify the incident.
Currently, the authorities have begun investigating the incident. Once the authorities have resolved the matter, the club will release information to fans and the media,” Hoang Anh Gia Lai informed.
