The tournament will have 3 distances for adults including marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km) and 5 km along with 2 Ronny dash distances (1500 m and 1.5 km), for children.
Possessing one of the most beautiful marathon routes in Asia, Danang International Marathon has attracted many international athletes to participate and travel in Da Nang over the past 12 years.
In 2025, the tournament is expected to welcome more than 7,000 athletes from 72 countries and territories. Of which, the number of international athletes is about 3,000 people (an increase of 42% compared to 2024), and accounts for 41% of the total number of athletes participating.
In the marathon event, the tournament has the participation of prominent names such as Shadrack Kipkemboi (Kenya), Issel Kawabata (Japan), Otmane Menbar (Morocco) and leading athletes of Vietnam such as Pham Ngoc Phan, Huynh Anh Khoi, Le Tan Hi, Le Minh Tuan, Pham Thi Binh...

Meanwhile, the half-marathon race is equally attractive with the participation of Eric Kiplimo Mosbei (Kenya), James Drakeford (UK), Vimal Govendarajoo (Malaysia) and Doan Thi Oanh, Nguyen Khanh Ly, Thai Thi Kim Ngan.
According to the development strategy, this year the competition will not have a distance of 10 km to improve the experience for athletes on 42 km and 21 km long distances, while preparing for the growth in the number of athletes of these 2 distances in the future. These are the 2 main distances with the largest number of international athletes participating in the tournament.
The event took place at the time of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025), becoming an important highlight in the series of celebration activities, affirming the role of sports in connecting the community and developing local tourism.
Not only a sporting event, Danang International Marathon also contributes to promoting the image of Da Nang - the most livable city in Vietnam to international friends.
