The 7th Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon 2024 is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation in coordination with other units. This is a key activity within the framework of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2024.
This year's tournament is expected to attract 15,000 domestic and international athletes.
This year’s event will feature many notable activities. The opening of the event week is the World Conference on Mass Sports, taking place from December 5 to 7. This is one of the prestigious conferences on sports with the participation of many experts and guests from many countries around the world, thereby contributing to marking the increasingly strong position of Ho Chi Minh City - a global sports tourism destination.
This year's season also marks the first time the marathon village and Kids Run (with the support of ILA educational organization) are held at The Global City Complex, bringing special experiences to athletes.
The race route is designed to go through 17 historical and cultural relics of Ho Chi Minh City, starting from Le Duan Street, District 1 and ending at Empire City, Thu Duc City, with the spirit of "Stride to a superior version", discovering a dynamic and colorful Ho Chi Minh City.
In particular, the running route also achieved international standard certification recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The results of the tournament will be the basis for athletes to register to participate in the world's most prestigious marathons in Boston, Chicago or New York...
