Male chess player Bang Gia Huy won the gold medal in the standard chess event of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship.

Peng Gia Huy has had positive results in the standard chess event at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship held in Thailand.

On November 29, the players competed in the final table of the standard event in the men's and women's groups U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18.

Bang Gia Huy competed in the U18 group, achieving 7 points after 9 matches, leading and winning the individual gold medal on the standard flag.

In the competition games, Bang Gia Huy scored 5 wins and 4 draws. The result helped the Hanoian player maintain the No. 1 standard flag position in the group.

In the previous days, Peng Gia Huy won the gold medal in the men's sprint team.

The chess team awarded Peng Gia Huy a place to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. This is the first time this player has competed at the Southeast Asian Games.

Therefore, the matches at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship are a valuable professional test for players. In early November, Peng Gia Huy played in the 2025 World Cup in India but unfortunately lost in round 1.

Also at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championship, in the standard chess event, Vietnamese players won the gold medal in the U10 men's team (Nguyen Xuan Phuong), the bronze medal in the U14 men's team (Nguyen Manh Duc), the silver medal in the U18 women's team (Nguyen Binh Vy), the bronze medal in the U18 women's team (Nguyen Khanh Linh).

The players also compete in the final event of the lightning chess before the tournament closes.
