Today (June 9), the group stage of the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship will close with the final match in Group C between U19 Australia and U19 Cambodia.
The match taking place at 8 pm at Madya Stadium (Northern Sumatra, Indonesia) is considered the decisive match for the ticket to the semi-finals of this group.
Before the final match, U19 Australia and U19 Cambodia both have 3 points. However, the young team from the land of kangaroos is holding a great advantage thanks to a superior goal difference (+10 compared to +3).
With the current situation, U19 Australia only needs a draw to win the top spot in the group and win a ticket to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, U19 Cambodia must win if they want to decide their chances of going further.
According to the tournament format, the top 3 teams in each group and 1 second-placed team with the best results will participate in the semi-finals.
Notably, because Group C only has 3 teams, when considering the results of the second-placed teams, the result of facing the bottom-ranked team in Groups A and B will not be counted. This makes the competition for a ticket to the next round more unpredictable in the final stage of the group stage.
After the group stage ends, the U19 Southeast Asian semi-finals 2026 will take place on June 11.
