Good teachers should also study abroad.
Vietnamese shooting has almost no coaches sent abroad for long-term training to gain expertise and they are training based on the practical experience they have accumulated.
The same goes for the Vietnamese athletics team, no coach has had the opportunity to study the expertise and training methods of world athletics for a long time. We have attended some international programs and classes, but they are purely for professional training purposes, not for professional coaching.
How to avoid being dependent on experts?
This is a very difficult question to answer. Previously, the Vietnamese wrestling team had seen experts working for more than 10 years and the coaching staff was very difficult to change. Vietnamese shooting also depends partly on experts. Every expert who comes to work in Vietnam has two highest goals: to work as a person who signs a labor contract to ensure compliance with agreements and commitments, and the second is to have the desire to connect and help Vietnamese sports develop further.
We have a football team that has to hire experts based on the fact that domestic coaches have not reached the level of expertise to help Vietnamese football achieve the best results. We have encountered many problems in finding a way to hire experts to stably train the Vietnamese men's and women's volleyball teams. After that, this was not effective.
Currently, domestic coaches assigned tasks such as Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet and Tran Dinh Tien have created trust from the players.
Every year, the Vietnam Olympic Committee is always informed of international training programs in many subjects, with many levels of the International Olympic Committee. Vietnamese sports are waiting for many retired athletes to attend these programs to complete and obtain coaching degrees. However, our biggest problem is foreign language. Vietnamese athletes can keep up with simple foreign language communication. When studying, it requires in-depth foreign language with enough vocabulary and academic knowledge, not many Vietnamese coaches and athletes can do it. This is not their fault because throughout the professional competition process, athletes must focus on training while domestic coaches must focus on the tasks assigned by the unit. It is difficult to combine cultural study time.
Vietnam has a typical case of Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, who is very famous when competing. She is currently working as a coach for swimming enthusiasts and training children. Recently, among the most recent coaches that Vietnamese sports is proud of, who has professional elements from foreign languages to expertise, is karate coach Nguyen Hoang Ngan. Since this coach joined the coaching work, Vietnamese karate (kata content) has not had to hire foreign experts.
Unfortunately, coach Nguyen Hoang Ngan has quit his job and changed careers, no longer being a karate coach at Hanoi Sports and the national team.
