Nhi Yen with 3 international highlights before being absent from the 33rd SEA Games

Athlete Tran Thi Nhi Yen has never won a gold medal at the SEA Games, but she has some memorable international results.

Tran Thi Nhi Yen's first notable international achievement was 2 medals at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia in 2023.

At the central stadium of the Congress, Nhi Yen won the silver medal in the 200m event with a time of 23 seconds 54 and the bronze medal in the 100m event with a time of 11 seconds 75. This is the first time Tran Thi Nhi Yen has attended the Southeast Asian Games.

Tran Thi Nhi Yen's second impressive international achievement is the silver medal double at the 2024 U20 Asian Athletics Championship in the UAE.

This player finished second in the 100m (110. second) and second in the 200m (234.48 second). With this result, Tran Thi Nhi Yen passed the benchmark to participate in the 2024 World Youth Championship.

However, the Vietnam Athletics Federation decided to give Nhi Yen a special chance to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics (France), so she did not compete in the World Youth Championship.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics (France), Nhi Yen passed the preliminary round of the women's 100m distance with a result of 11 seconds 81. In her first qualifying round, Nhi Yen came in 7th place with a time of 11 seconds 79, so the competition ended.

The 3rd and most memorable international achievement, and also the most recent, is the bronze medal in the 100m at the 2025 Asian Championship. Nhi Yen won 11 seconds 54 in the distance final, winning the bronze medal.

This is a valuable medal for Tran Thi Nhi Yen in the Asian arena. Before Nhi Yen, the Vietnamese women's player who won the medal at the Asian Championship for short distances was Vu Thi Huong (in 2009).

Tran Thi Nhi Yen attended the 19th ASIAD in 2022 in Hangzhou (China). She ranked 8th in the 100m (11 seconds 58) and 7th in the 200m (23 seconds 85). She started to train in the Vietnam Athletics Team from 2023.
