    Quang Ninh - On the morning of January 9, Quang Ninh province met and awarded Hai Long - the player who scored an emotional goal against the Thai team in the final match.

    Attending the meeting and awarding ceremony were Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

    Here, leaders of Quang Ninh province awarded a certificate of merit, flowers and a bonus of 350 million VND to player Nguyen Hai Long.

    Along with that, the leaders of Quang Ninh Football Club awarded 100 million VND to player Nguyen Hai Long.

    Yesterday evening (January 8), right after returning to his hometown - Tien Yen district, Quang Ninh province, Tien Yen district leaders held a meeting to reward Hai Long for his contributions to the Vietnam national football team. Relatives, friends and people in the district also came in large numbers to share the joy with Hai Long.

    Midfielder Nguyen Hai Long scored the first and last goals for the Vietnam national football team at the AFF Cup 2024, with the first goal coming in the match against Laos and the last but emotional goal coming in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final against host Thailand.

    This goal was initiated by Quang Hai's attack. After a few moves to overcome the Thai players, Hai Long fired a shot from quite far away, slowly rolling the ball into the empty net when Thai goalkeeper Khammai could not retreat in time, thereby helping Vietnam beat Thailand with a score of 3-2 and win the championship.
