According to the information from the People's Committee of Quảng Ninh Province, the Dong Trieu golf course, also known as the Silk Path Dong Trieu golf course, broke ground in October 2021 and is expected to be completed and operational by November 2024.
The golf course is located in an ideal position at Khe Che Lake, An Sinh Commune, Dong Trieu Town.
Golf Course Dong Trieu covers an area of approximately 130ha, with a total investment of over 1.277 trillion VND, designed and supervised by legendary golfer Nick Faldo from the UK, capable of serving over 800 customers per day.
Dong Trieu golf course includes a 9-hole golf course for beginners and a modern golf training academy, as well as an 18-hole Championship golf course for experienced golfers. The idea of building two golf courses with different purposes is highly appreciated as it offers many options for players.
With the 18-hole golf course, the main challenge lies in the natural terrain with steep slopes and water and sand traps intertwined. This requires golfers to have experience handling the ball to achieve the best results.
Additionally, there are low-rise residential projects, high-rise hotels, golf practice areas, green infrastructure, scenic landscapes, entertainment areas, and high-end eco-lodges meeting 5-star standards.
This project combines relaxation and golf, expected to have a positive impact on the development of tourism and economy in Quảng Ninh Province.
With the Dong Trieu golf course, the largest golf course in Quảng Ninh Province to date, there are now 4 golf courses in the province, including FLC Ha Long Golf Course, Tuần Châu Golf Course, and Móng Cái International Golf Course.
Currently, 2 projects are being implemented, including Ha Long Xanh Golf Course (Ha Long) and Ao Tiên Golf Course (Vân Đồn).
According to the Quảng Ninh Province Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, it is expected that Quảng Ninh will have 16 additional golf courses, bringing the total number of golf courses in the province to 20.
The new 16 golf courses include: An Biên Golf Course (Ha Long), golf courses in reclaimed coal mining areas (Ha Long), Quang Hanh Golf Course (Cẩm Phả), golf courses in Cái Bầu hills (Vân Đồn District), golf courses on Ngọc Vừng Island (Vân Đồn District), golf courses on Quan Lạn Island (Vân Đồn District), Uông Bí Golf Course (Bắc Sơn Ward, Uông Bí City), Uông Bí Golf Course (Phương Đông Ward, Uông Bí City), Tiên Yên Golf Course (Tiên Yên District), Bình Ngọc - Trà Cổ Golf Course (Móng Cái City), Vĩnh Trung - Vĩnh Thực Golf Course (Móng Cái City), Cái Chiên Golf Course (Hải Hà District), Đầm Hà Golf Course (Đầm Hà District), and Bình Liêu Golf Course (Bình Liêu District).
Among the new golf courses in the master plan, the golf course in the reclaimed coal mining areas, Ha Long City, is considered a special case and will be the only one of its kind in Vietnam.
