Young midfielder Tran Thanh Trung of Ninh Binh club was injured in the 1-1 draw with Becamex HCMC in round 9 of V.League 2025-2026 on the evening of November 1, causing the coaching staff and fans to worry.
In the 10th minute of the match, Thanh Trung accelerated into the penalty area and was blocked by Dinh Khuong with a strong tackle. The referee initially did not award a penalty, but after consulting VAR, he changed his decision, giving Ninh Binh a chance on the 11m mark. However, the midfielder born in 2005 had to leave the field early in the 20th minute due to pain in the fallopian tube.
That same night, the overseas Vietnamese player was taken to the hospital for examination. The diagnostic results showed that he had torn skin, had to have 5 stitches but did not affect bones or ligaments. According to the medical team, Thanh Trung only needs about 10 days to fully recover, enough time to return to training before joining the U23 Vietnam team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
Coach Gerard Albadalejo expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the opposing players handled it. "It was very dangerous to hit that ball. If the referee had handled it more strictly, the match would have been different. Fortunately, Trung's injury was not too serious," he shared.
Tran Thanh Trung is one of the outstanding young faces of Ninh Binh this season. He impressed with his ability to observe and think modern football. He is considered an important factor in coach Kim Sang-sik's plan at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.
