The Female Athlete of the Year category at the 2024 Victory Cup goes to shooter Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting). Last year, Thu Vinh was the best performer of Vietnamese sports at the Olympics when she finished 4th in the women's 10m air pistol and women's 25m sport pistol categories.
The Male Athlete of the Year award went to billiard player Tran Quyet Chien. Accordingly, the player born in 1983 won 2 World Cup championships and 1 Asian team championship in 2024.
In addition, coach Luu Van Hoan was honored in the category of Outstanding Coach of 2024. Last year, under his leadership and the coaching staff, the canoeing team won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal at the Asian tournament, 6 gold medals at the Asian youth and U23 tournaments, and 1 ticket to compete in the Paris Olympics.
The Team of the Year category at the 2024 Victory Cup belongs to the Vietnam Women's Indoor Volleyball Team. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team achieved many great achievements in 2024 such as winning the Asian Championship - AVC Challenge Cup, placing 3rd at the FIBV Challenger Cup World Championship and qualifying for the 2025 World Championship.
The Team of the Year award went to the women's 4x400m relay team in athletics with the gold medal at the Asian Championship, including athletes Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh
Meanwhile, surpassing two opponents, Dang Thi Hong (volleyball) and Vo Thi My Tien (swimming), rower Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing) won the title of Outstanding Young Athlete of 2024.
