Today (September 19), the Vietnam women's volleyball team entered the third-place match of the Shanghai Future Stars 2025 against opponent Shanghai U21. This is considered a balanced match because although the squad consists of many young faces, U21 Shanghai is highly appreciated for its attackers who are capable of scoring well on the blocks.
Entering the match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continuously chased the score. The first step mistake and the gaps on the field caused coach Ngoc Hoa's students to be exploited by their opponents.
In set 1, Bich Thuy and her teammates suffered a 17-25 defeat. Despite adjustments in tactics and making the most of the attacks, in the following two sets, the Vietnam women's volleyball team still faced many difficulties against U21 Shanghai.
The Vietnamese girls lost with the same score of 23-25 in the next two sets. In the end, the Vietnam women's volleyball team lost 0-3 to U21 Shanghai, thereby ending this year's tournament in 4th place.
Although there are still many regrets, compared to last year's achievements, Vietnam has made progress. At Shanghai Future Star 2024, the Vietnam women's volleyball team was led by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and ranked 5th overall.
