The squad consists of two goalkeepers Tran Thi Hai Yen and Ngo Nguyen Thuy Linh, along with 12 players from many different units. In which, the main force is still on the payroll of Thai Son Nam HCMC with 8 athletes, followed by Thong Nhat Sports Training and Competition Center (2 players), Than Khoang San Viet Nam (1 player) and 1 player from the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.
Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said the team had gone through a careful preparation period before entering the tournament. The groups have been shaped, the playing style has been clearly built and the coaching staff has also perfected the tactical plan for each opponent. During the domestic and international training period, the team played 4 quality friendly matches, helping the players accumulate more experience and improve cohesion. "The team spirit is very good and ready for the 33rd SEA Games," Mr. Hoang shared.
Commenting on the opponent, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang assessed that the group will have many challenges. Indonesia is considered a team that has made rapid progress, showing impressive form in the Asian finals with diverse playing style, high intensity and strong physical strength. Myanmar has also had significant changes over the past year, from the coaching staff to the playing style and personnel, so the Vietnam team needs to be cautious and not allowed to be subjective.
Setting goals for the tournament, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang emphasized that the team will focus on competing in each match, prioritizing the completion of the goal of passing the group stage. After achieving this goal, the whole team will adjust their tactics to aim for the highest achievement at the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the plan, the Vietnam women's futsal team will travel to Thailand tomorrow morning (December 10). Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang will attend the press conference before the opening match on December 11. In the opening match on December 12, the team will face Indonesia and face Myanmar in the final round on December 14.
