Before leaving, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team completed the preparation phase including training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and a short training trip in Japan. The coaching staff focused on reviewing the force, improving physical strength and adjusting tactical areas to help the team achieve the best state for the tournament.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam women's team is in Group B with Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar. This is considered a challenging group when the Philippines has a strong force thanks to the group of naturalized players, while Malaysia and Myanmar maintain stability. The Vietnamese women's team is in the process of rejuvenation, combining a class of experienced players with future faces.

Before the departure, the team suffered a loss in terms of force when midfielder Nguyen Thi Van was injured in the practice match on November 18. However, the whole team aims to take a steady step forward, striving to pass the group stage, enter the semi-finals and finals to defend the championship.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said that the team's fighting spirit is very good. He emphasized that concentration and tactical discipline will be key factors in each match.
According to the plan, the Vietnam women's team will get acquainted with the field and complete tactical exercises before meeting Malaysia in the opening match on December 5. The remaining two matches of the group stage will take place on December 8 (against the Philippines) and December 10 (against Myanmar). The team is determined to bring the best results to the fans at the 33rd SEA Games.
