From June 9 to 15, the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) will organize a qualifying event to compete for 3 spots in the Vietnamese tennis team for the upcoming Davis Cup. The matches will take place at the AP Sports stadium cluster (Thao Dien, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City).
Sharing with Lao Dong, VTF representative said that up to now, 7 players have confirmed their participation in the selection round, including: Pham La Hoang Anh, Truong Thanh Minh (Hai Dang Tay Ninh), Dinh Viet Tuan Minh, Tran Quoc Cuong (HCMC), Nguyen Dai Khanh (Becamex Binh Duong), Nguyen Minh Phat (AP Sports), Bui Hoang Anh (Hanoi).
They are all young, talented players with a desire to compete. The oldest of them was only 22 years old, while the youngest was only 18 years old. According to VTF's regulations, 7 players will compete in a round-robin to select the 3 athletes with the best results to join the Vietnam tennis team for the Davis Cup.
The VTF's organization of the Davis Cup qualifying round aims to ensure fairness, transparency and have a basis to best evaluate the quality of athletes, in order to select the best force for the Davis Cup, serving the goal of promotion, said the VTF representative.

The VTF leader said that the selection will be conducted throughout the teams in the coming time, in order to create good competition among athletes.
Previously, VTF announced the first two tickets to the Vietnam national team for the Davis Cup, tennis player Nguyen Van Phuong (Army) and Vu Ha Minh Duc (AP Sports club). Among them, Minh Duc is a tennis player who won the national men's singles championship in 2023 and 2024.
Vietnam will host the ITF Davis Cup Group III Asian/Ocean region international tennis tournament in 2025. The tournament takes place from July 14 to 19, 2025 with the competition of 40 professional tennis players from 10 countries including: Jordan, Cambodia, Iran, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Thailand and 1 other country that is still updated.
The tournament will take place at the Hanaka Paris Ocean Park tennis court cluster, Tu Son, Bac Ninh - a venue that has successfully hosted many international tournaments such as the 31st SEA Games and the Davis Cup play-off for the promotion to Group II in 2024.
According to the announcement from the International Tennis Federation (ITF), after this tournament, the top 3 teams will be promoted and participate in the play-off rounds of Group II in 2026.
