The WFFA NextGen World Championship 2024 ended on the evening of December 22 with a dramatic final match between Can Minh Duc and Joshua Meehan from Luxembourg.

The WFFA NextGen World Championship 2024 is a major tournament for young athletes pursuing the sport of freestyle football around the world.
This year's competition took place online with the participation of 50 contestants from 30 countries. The 16 best contestants were selected to compete live on livestream with 3 judges scoring each match.
In the top 16 round, Can Minh Duc defeated his opponent Finley Strangewood (England). In the quarter-finals, the Vietnamese athlete continued to defeat his opponent from Poland - Blazej Mlynek and then continued to Yuki Shimoshuga (Japan) in the semi-finals. Finally, Minh Duc defeated the representative of Luxembourg in the final with an absolute victory.
Sharing his feelings after becoming the world champion of freestyle football, Can Minh Duc said: “Against very strong opponents, I used all my skills and was truly overwhelmed when my name was announced as the winner.
After many tournaments, failures and injuries, I have now achieved my first success in my freestyle career. This will be a stepping stone to further goals in the future."
Can Minh Duc was born on November 13, 2009 in Ha Giang. Having been involved in freestyle football since 2021, Duc soon showed his potential and caught the eye of Do Kim Phuc.
The 2013 Asian Freestyle Ball Champion recruited Minh Duc to his team and accompanied him on his journey to reach the world championship.
Despite the great distance, with the teacher in Hanoi and the student in Ha Giang, and only being able to practice online, with experience and effort, Do Kim Phuc and his students have created something special together.
