Usually, in national team level tournaments, many scouts from many clubs around the world attend to look for suitable players with enough potential to develop and invite them to play. It is the performance of the Vietnamese girls that makes fans believe in their ability to go abroad in the future.
In 2024, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will bring to international tournaments a fixed squad including faces such as Bich Tuyen, Tu Linh, Le Thanh Thuy, Dinh Thi Tra Giang, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Nguyen Thi Tra My.
With the return of opposite setter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, and the team of players always playing at more than 100% of their strength, maturing through each tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team have participated in 5 international tournaments, winning the AVC Challenge Cup 2024, 3rd place in the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024, having a ticket to the 2025 World Championship, 2nd place in 2 stages of SEA V.League 2024.
In the framework of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in recent times, some players have had the opportunity to compete abroad. Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh and Dinh Thi Tra Giang used to compete in Thailand. Tran Tu Linh is a case that had a trial in Korea at the end of April 2024 but has not had another opportunity to stay and compete.
With the physique and physical strength of Vietnamese women's volleyball, Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Korea... are still suitable destinations that any player can think of. Talking to Lao Dong, players such as Le Thanh Thuy or Lam Oanh once affirmed that they wanted to try their hand at competing abroad. If given the opportunity, they would definitely seize the opportunity to gain more experience.
"According to the process, when players compete in international tournaments, other teams will follow and find suitable players that they want to bring back. Then, they will contact the home team. Our job is to try our best in each match, each tournament and wait for the opportunity," midfielder Le Thanh Thuy once shared.
The representative of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation also said that playing abroad brings players significant professional accumulation because playing in a professional playground, they have to try their best to gain a foothold on the field. Therefore, the players' expertise is significantly increased. This is very beneficial for the national team.
Above all, Vietnam is an attractive market for volleyball with a large number of followers. Any team when recruiting players always calculates the market development and the development of their image from that player.
