On December 6, in Hanoi, Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) held an event to announce the EURO 2024 broadcasting rights belonging to TV360.
This is the first time Vietnam has fully owned the EURO broadcasting rights, from the qualifying round, play-offs to the finals. Accordingly, this unit has exclusive rights to exploit all broadcasting and communication rights of the tournament on all television infrastructure and social networks within the territory of Vietnam.
According to data from SportPromedia, the EURO 2020 finals have reached 5.2 billion viewers. Meanwhile, the number of views for the final between Italy and England broke the record for the highest number of views for a football match in these two countries.
Therefore, this is the tournament that sports fans are most looking forward to after the World Cup, and at the same time became the desire of every stadium in the world.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cao Anh Son - General Director of Viettel Telecom - said: "With the agreement reached very early, this is the first time we have brought to our customers in particular and the Vietnamese people in general a complete EURO tournament from the qualifying round, playoff round to the final round, with the most perfect quality, can be watched anytime, anywhere on the digital television platform.
The ownership of EURO 2024 broadcasting rights demonstrates its role in leading the digital television market, attracting customers, especially young customers, to return to watch Vietnamese television, becoming an extension of traditional television, along with the domestic quality content production industry to reach more widely and further to all Vietnamese users".
Football copyright is always a hot topic for the public before each football season, especially the World Cup and EURO finals.
In the past 10 years, copyright purchase has been a fierce competition between broadcasters in each country. Grasping this trend, TV360 soon owned the EURO 2024 copyright, meeting the needs of Vietnamese fans.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Tinh - Deputy General Director of Viettel Telecom - shared: "EURO 2024 will be broadcast on the number 1 platform in Vietnam, with the best quality. We have more than 10 million regular customers, confidently bringing EURO to audiences across the country, bringing the tournament across Vietnam.
To have a good broadcast, we will try our best to organize comments before, during and after each tournament, bringing the best experiences to the audience".
