Monte Carlo 2019 has seen three seeded players say goodbye even as the tournament has just begun.

Seed No. 15, Denis Shapovalov started smoothly with a 7-5 victory in set 1 against opponent Jan-Lennard Struff. However, Struff was not shy and calm to win 6-3 in set 2.

Continuing the excitement, Struff sinked Shapovalov in the deciding set with a quick score of 6-1. After losing to an unranked opponent, Shapovalov bowed his head and left the tournament on the day of his 20th birthday.

The same situation as the Canarian star is Kyle Edmund and Nikoloz Basilashvili. The two seeds of the tournament took turns playing against Diego Schwartzman and Marton Fucsovics with the same score of 1-2.

In other developments, famous tennis players such as Stan Wawrinka, Fabio fognini or Grigor Dimitrov all lowered their opponents to go straight.

The highlight of tonight's series of matches is Novak Djokovic's debut from round 2. The world No. 1 will face Philipp Kohlschreiber, who sowed his sorrow in Indian Wells not long ago.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has also identified his opponent in the second round as his compatriot Roberto Bautista-Agut. The Spaniard beat John Millman after three tense sets (1-3, 6-1, 6-1) to challenge him to the "King of the screenborn". Nadal and Bautista Agut will compete against each other on the afternoon of April 17.
