Attending the opening ceremony and the opening match were Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports of Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau expressed: The National U21 Football Tournament is always considered a place to demonstrate the mettle, maturity and aspiration to assert themselves of young players, an important bridge between youth training and professional football.
In recent years, VFF has continuously strived to innovate the format, improve the quality of organizing youth tournaments, in order to create a professional, fair and effective competition environment for the comprehensive development of players.
On behalf of VFF and the Organizing Committee, I would like to express my sincere thanks for the coordination and support of localities and units participating in organizing the tournament. I would like to thank the attention and support of fans, media agencies, and the press for contributing to spreading the noble spirit of sportsmanship and building an increasingly developed youth football environment".

This year's tournament brings together 12 excellent youth teams, competing from July 19 to July 31 on 3 courts: Ba Ria, Long Tam and Tan Hung. The tournament brings together 12 excellent teams including: Hanoi, The Cong Viettel, PVF, Song Lam Nghe An, Da Nang, Hoang Anh Gia Lai I, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Dak Lak, PVF-CAND and the home team Ho Chi Minh City Football Club.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the opening match between U21 Ho Chi Minh City and U21 Song Lam Nghe An took place, attracting enthusiastic cheers from the audience on the field and TV viewers.
