On the afternoon of December 17, the draw ceremony for the 2025 World Volleyball Championship took place in Bangkok, Thailand.
As a result, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team fell into Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya. These are 3 opponents who are all ranked above the Vietnamese team in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) rankings.
Poland is currently ranked 6th in the world. They are one of the teams that regularly participate in the World Volleyball Championship as well as the Olympics. Germany is currently ranked 11th and Kenya is ranked 22nd. The African representative also participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The above group will certainly bring many difficulties for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. However, this is also a rare opportunity for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team to compete and compete with the world's leading volleyball teams, accumulating professional and psychological experience.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has a ticket to the 2025 World Championship thanks to its fourth place finish in the 2023 Asian Championship. According to the rules, the host and defending champion are given 2 default spots. The remaining 15 spots are divided among the top 3 teams in the continental championships.
Because Thailand (Asian champion) is the host, the 3 teams ranked below were promoted to get tickets to the world tournament, respectively China, Japan and Vietnam.
With the new format, the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship will feature 32 teams and 64 matches. Each group will consist of four teams, with the first and second place teams advancing to the round of 16, then to the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals to determine the champion.
The tournament will take place in Thailand from 22 August 2025 to 7 September 2025. The group stage matches will be held in 4 cities: Phuket, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima and Bangkok.
