Domestic pepper prices: Recorded decline for the second consecutive week
As of 11:30 today (September 14), domestic pepper prices are trading between 148,000 - 151,000 VND/kg, an average decrease of 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg compared to last week depending on the region.
At the end of last week, Dak Lak and Lam Dong both decreased by VND 1,000/kg last week, down to VND 151,000/kg.
Similarly, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai also decreased by VND 1,000/kg, to VND 150,000/kg.
Pepper prices in Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc are lower at 148,000 VND/kg, down 2,000 VND/kg and 3,000 VND/kg respectively.

World pepper prices: intertwined increases and decreases
According to the International Pepper Company (IPC), world pepper prices fluctuated in different directions last week.
In particular, Indonesia's black pepper prices decreased slightly by 12 USD/ton compared to last week and are currently trading at 7,074 USD/ton. In the same direction, the price of Indonesian white pepper decreased by 18 USD/ton, down to 10,024 USD/ton.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 decreased more strongly, with a decrease of 100 USD/ton to 6,500 USD/ton. In the opposite direction, Vietnam's export black pepper price increased by 360 - 430 USD/ton, to 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton for the 500 g/l and 550 g/l type. Vietnam's white sugar increased by 100 USD/ton, to 9,250 USD/ton.
In particular, the price of ASTA Malaysia black and white pepper has been flat all week, trading at 9,700 USD/ton and 12,900 USD/ton, respectively.
