Assessments and forecasts
According to the Import-Export Department, the US continues to be Vietnam's largest pepper import market in the first months of 2026.
In the structure of exports to the US, black pepper continues to account for the largest proportion with more than 20,000 tons, equivalent to 81.5% of total exports to this market, a sharp increase compared to 60.5% in the same period last year.
Accumulated in the first 4 months of the year, pepper exports to the US reached nearly 24,800 tons, with a turnover of about 177.6 million USD, a sharp increase of 39.4% in volume and 34% in value compared to the same period last year.
However, the average export price to this market decreased by about 3.8%, to about 7,173 USD/ton.
According to experts, the demand for pepper imports from the US remains at a fairly good level in the context that the food processing and catering services industry in this country continues to recover. However, price competition pressure and global logistics fluctuations are still factors that need to be monitored in the coming time.
