Assessment and forecast
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), global pepper output in 2025 will continue to decrease, while consumption demand will remain stable. This is the factor that drives strong growth of Vietnamese pepper exports. With the current export price having increased by 68% over the same period last year, VPSA predicts that pepper exports in 2025 will achieve impressive achievements, possibly surpassing the record of 1.5 billion USD.
The Vietnamese pepper industry is shifting from expanding pepper growing areas to focusing on improving quality, promoting deep processing, as well as diversifying products and markets.
The goal is to penetrate deeper into the global pepper supply chain, many farming families have decided to invest in taking care of existing pepper gardens and replanting old, poor-yielding areas to create new breakthroughs.
