Assessment and forecast
According to the Center for Industrial and Trade Information - Ministry of Industry and Trade (VITIC), pepper demand in the US market has progressed positively for long-term orders for the third and fourth quarters of 2025. This shows strong confidence in market stability and the possibility of a supply shortage in the future.
Global pepper supply is facing many challenges. According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), although pepper prices have increased compared to last year, replanting activities in key provinces are still slow. The reason is that there is not much new land fund left, while farmers have switched to growing crops that are more economically efficient such as durian and coffee.
In addition, export companies are not currently offering long-term contracts, as the market is forecast to continue to fluctuate in 2025 and 2026.
