The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA Vietnam) and PwC Vietnam Company Limited (PwC) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking an important milestone in establishing a strategic partnership.
The event not only affirms the commitment of the two organizations in building professional human resources but also aims at the goal of sustainable development for the accounting and finance industry in Vietnam.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the aim of supporting and enhancing knowledge for the business community in building professional human resources, meeting international standards in the field of green development and practicing sustainable development reporting.
Although not legally binding, the MoU provides a basis for important cooperation projects, contributing to solving the challenges of the accounting and finance industry in the context of globalization and the increasing need for sustainable development.
On behalf of ACCA Vietnam, Mr. To Quoc Hung, Country Director said: "Through the cooperation, we are committed to sharing international experience in applying international standards and norms in Vietnam, especially in the field of green transformation. Together, we will improve knowledge about sustainable development and green transformation for businesses in Vietnam. In addition, we will organize training programs, internships, conferences, seminars, and joint research projects".
Speaking at the event, PwC Vietnam representative, Ms. Luong Thi Anh Tuyet - Deputy General Director of PwC Vietnam, expressed her expectation: "This cooperation not only creates value for participating organizations but also contributes to promoting the application of international standards in the financial sector in Vietnam. We look forward to accompanying ACCA Vietnam in the journey to realize sustainable goals".
As the standing body of the National Council for Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Planning and Investment is ready to create favorable conditions within the framework for this relationship to be implemented most smoothly.
Director of the Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Planning and Investment believes that the determination and professionalism of both sides will contribute to achieving the set goals, while "creating a runway for more ambitious cooperation projects in the future", Mr. Le Viet Anh added.
Under the agreement, PwC Vietnam and ACCA Vietnam will focus on four key areas including developing ESG skills and promoting sustainability reporting, training and professional capacity building, promoting the application of IFRS standards in Vietnam and introducing professional certificates into internal training programs.
Regarding ESG skills development and promoting sustainability reporting, the two organizations will coordinate research and implementation of sustainability reporting application solutions, with a special focus on enhancing ESG capacity in the accounting and finance industry. ESG research will involve academic institutions, regulatory agencies and commercial partners to ensure high practicality and feasibility.
PwC Vietnam and ACCA Vietnam will continue to jointly develop and implement career orientation programs, develop recruitment strategies and cooperate between the two parties, through joint training programs, organizing conferences and seminars.
On the other hand, the two parties will promote the application of IFRS standards in Vietnam by developing strategies and organizing promotional events to promote the application of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) in Vietnam, through specialized seminars and clearly targeted communication campaigns.
In addition, ACCA Vietnam will support PwC Vietnam to integrate professional certifications into its internal training program by integrating certifications on sustainability, IFRS, auditing, risk management and digital into PwC's internal training programs for employees and academies.
This cooperation agreement will be effective for 5 years, with an annual work plan developed and periodically reviewed to ensure effectiveness. Both parties are committed to seeking new cooperation opportunities to contribute to the sustainable development of the accounting and finance industry in Vietnam.
