On the occasion of October 20 - Vietnamese Women's Day, the fresh flower market in Hanoi has become "hotter" than ever. According to a survey by Lao Dong at Quang An flower market (Tay Ho, Hanoi), the current price of flowers has doubled compared to the beginning of the month.
At a flower shop on Hai Ba Trung Street (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), employees are busy preparing flowers to deliver to customers.
Fresh flowers such as Ecuadorian roses, Dutch tulips, Dutch hydrangeas... are imported from abroad and arranged in luxurious vases and flower baskets.
Succulents are one of the items that this store sells with a variety of types, sizes and prices, suitable for many customer segments.
"This year is more special than previous years because succulents are very popular. People respond to this plant because of its unique beauty and enduring vitality," said Mr. Duy Nam (flower shop manager) on Hai Ba Trung Street.
According to Mr. Nam, there are many types of succulents with many colors. Each medium-sized succulent basket at the store costs from 3,000,000 to 5,000,000 VND. Small baskets cost from 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 VND. There are succulent pots over 1 meter high that cost up to tens of millions of VND.
''The succulent baskets are designed in eye-catching, luxurious shapes with many different types. On October 20 alone, the store received dozens of orders for succulent baskets,'' Mr. Nam added.
According to Mr. Nam, up to now, the number of flower orders at his shop has increased by about 20% compared to previous years.
To deliver orders to customers on time, Mr. Nam's store had to mobilize more staff to prepare and package the orders to send to customers on time.
