On October 10, at the Cao Bang Provincial Conference Center, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the 19th Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region Science and Technology Conference in 2024.
The conference had the theme "Pac Bo, the revolutionary origin - Northern mountainous and midland areas preserve identity, towards the future" and was chaired by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Truong Huy.
Attending the conference were leaders of Dien Bien and Bac Kan provinces, leaders of the Department of Science and Technology and many related units.
The conference aims to evaluate the results of science, technology and innovation (STI) activities of localities in the region, and at the same time propose solutions for research and application of science to serve socio-economic development.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Trinh Truong Huy emphasized the important role of science and technology in improving the quality of human resources and labor productivity in the locality. Currently, Cao Bang province is implementing 55 science and technology tasks, including many projects in the fields of agriculture, science and technology and medicine.
The conference is also an opportunity for the Northern Midlands and Mountains provinces to share experiences, discuss solutions to improve the production and business environment, enhance competitiveness, and promote sustainable development in the region.
The 20th Conference will be held in 2026 and hosted by Dien Bien province.
