Laos - Vietnam Friendship Park has an area of ​​over 30,000m2 located in Xaythany district, Vientiane capital.

According to VNA, during his visit to Laos and co-chairing the 47th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee, on the morning of January 10, in the capital Vientiane, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park, a symbol of the special solidarity between the two countries.

Laos - Vietnam Friendship Park has an area of ​​over 30,000m2 located in Xaythany district, Vientiane capital - the place planned as a new urban center after Vientiane is expanded.

In the middle of the park is a square, an artificial lake and surrounded by green space.

In particular, in the central square of the park there is a cluster of reliefs depicting historical and cultural elements of Laos with the Lao and Vietnamese flags flying above.

In front is a cluster of statues of three leaders of Vietnam and Laos: President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong.

The Laos - Vietnam Friendship Park was presented by the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the Party, State and people of Laos in the form of a "turnkey".

Upon completion, the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park will be a modern project with historical and cultural elements; highly aesthetic and with beautiful landscapes; a place for entertainment, organizing events, and educating about revolutionary traditions, great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

At the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Thongsalith Mangnomek stated that the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park is a symbol of the times of the two countries Vietnam and Laos, representing a long-standing tradition, cultivated for a long time, through many generations of building and nurturing.

Laos and Vietnam are two neighboring countries, sharing a border, leaning against the Truong Son mountain range, and sharing the Mekong River.

Since ancient times, in every era, the two countries have had friendly cooperation, mutual support and assistance. President Kaysone Phomvihane, President Souphanouvong, President Ho Chi Minh are great predecessors, loyal leaders, with great contributions in the struggle for national independence and building friendship between the two countries.

Those contributions will forever be engraved in the history of the people of the two countries. The determination of the two Parties and the two Governments to build this project has great significance, with the main highlight being the statues of President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong located solemnly in the middle of the park.

According to Mr. Thongsalith Mangnomek, after completion, this park will become the greenest and most beautiful park in the capital Vientiane, a place for entertainment for the capital's residents, and also a place to educate about the heroic historical tradition and the tradition of friendship, solidarity and loyalty between Vietnam and Laos.

The Project Management Board strives to make this a model project, ensuring completion on schedule with the highest quality. On this occasion, the Lao Party and Government expressed their gratitude for the support of the Vietnamese Party and Government in contributing to the development of this project.
