On November 30, at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi), General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Minister of National Defense - inspected the training and encouraged the forces participating in the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.
General Phan Van Giang assessed the exercise as successful, with the forces overcoming many difficulties while practicing hard to perform their tasks well.
The General thanked the officers, soldiers, and actors on the ground and authorized the Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force to commend the pilots on duty.


The Minister of National Defense noted that the script for the Opening Ceremony needs to be re-edited to properly demonstrate the army's strength; the army's solidarity and unity; and to affirm to the world that the Vietnam People's Army is a fighting army, a working army, a production labor army...
Emphasizing that the time from now until the opening ceremony of the Exhibition is not long, General Phan Van Giang requested all participating forces and related units to make every effort, "working day and night thinking about what else we can do so that tomorrow we can do better than the day before", to prove that not only in combat but also in peacetime, the Vietnam People's Army is forever worthy of the name of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

The opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will take place on the morning of December 19, with the participation of Party and State leaders and international guests.
The opening ceremony is expected to last about 1 hour, including 30 minutes for the art program and 30 minutes for the main ceremony.
The art program at the opening of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 was elaborately staged, demonstrating the cultural identity of the country and people of Vietnam, the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army with the theme "Peace, cooperation, and mutual development".
The highlight of the Opening Ceremony was the welcome flight of the Vietnam Air Force, martial arts performance by the Special Forces and dog training by the Border Guard.
The number of aircraft on display at this exhibition will be greater than at the first Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in 2022. It is expected that 10 SU-30MK2 fighters will fly in a 3-4-3 formation and 10 helicopters will fly in a 3-4-3 formation at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.


Nearly 200 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from many countries such as the US, Russia, UK, France... registered to display booths, introducing combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, and equipment used for defense forces.
The exhibition will take place for 4 days (from December 19 to 22) at Gia Lam Airport. In addition to general activities, the organizers will reserve a long time for people to visit the exhibition for free (from 1:30 p.m. on December 21 to 3 p.m. on December 22).
