Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly hopes to welcome many Vietnamese people to travel and study at Egyptian universities.

On August 6 (local time), within the framework of a state visit to the Egyptian Arab Republic, at the House of Representatives, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong met with Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcoming President Luong Cuong to visit the Egyptian House of Representatives, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly expressed his delight at the important and substantial results that the two countries have achieved after the talks between President Luong Cuong and President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed that President Luong Cuong's state visit is a clear demonstration of the determination of the leaders and people of the two countries to further deepen bilateral relations.

The Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives believes that the visit will create new momentum for the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in all fields, contributing positively to the resolution of regional and international issues.

Sharing about the two countries having announced the upgrading of relations to Comprehensive Partnership and through many cooperation documents in important fields, President Luong Cuong hoped that the Egyptian House of Representatives would continue to support the strengthening of the Vietnam - Egypt Comprehensive Partnership; supervise and promote the effective implementation of the cooperation agreements reached between the two countries.

Appreciating the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in building and perfecting the legal system, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly expressed his desire to promote parliamentary cooperation between the two sides on both bilateral and multilateral levels.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives also suggested that the two sides increase exchanges of high-level delegations and at all levels, further promote cooperation in the fields of economy - trade - investment, and hope to welcome more Vietnamese people to travel and study at Egyptian universities.

The President affirmed that Vietnam wishes to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries through the parliamentary channel. The President suggested that the Egyptian House of Representatives support the implementation of major orientations to promote bilateral relations more effectively, substantially and comprehensively, including the early signing of cooperation agreements to create a complete legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

In addition to effectively supervising the implementation of high-level commitments, President Luong Cuong and the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives agreed that the two sides should strengthen cooperation in sharing legislative experience, coordinating and supporting each other at international forums, organizations and inter-parliamentary forums around the world. The two sides agreed to soon study the establishment of the Friendship Parliamentarians Association to share and exchange legislative information.
