On the morning of April 24, Ben Tre province solemnly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), 50 years of the liberation of Ben Tre Province (1.5.1975 - 1.5.2025), 139 years of International Labor Day (1.5.1886 - 1.5.2025) and awarded Nguyen Dinh Chieu Prize.

Attending were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - former Politburo member, former Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Mr. Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Ms. Truong My Hoa - former Vice President; Mr. Duong Thanh Binh - Chairman of the National Assembly's Petition and Supervision Committee; Ms. To Thi Bich Chau - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and leaders of Ben Tre province.


According to the Organizing Committee, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country; 50 years of Liberation of Ben Tre Province is an opportunity to thank the heroic martyrs and families with meritorious services, and at the same time look back at the valuable achievements and lessons from the process of national construction and development. Besides, this is an opportunity to commemorate the great sacrifices of the previous generations and affirm the achievements in the reconstruction of the homeland after liberation, from economic development, infrastructure to culture, education and society.
Along with that, the 139th anniversary of the International Labor Day is an opportunity to honor the important contribution of workers in socio -economic development; At the same time, remind the government's responsibility in protecting benefits, improving the working environment, improving the quality of life and implementing social security policies.
In addition to historical events, today's Nguyen Dinh Chieu Award ceremony is an important highlight to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to culture, art, education, and medicine, especially in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
