Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of Yen Bai People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan inspected the progress of resettlement housing construction and visited and encouraged the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh in village 1 and the family of Mr. Pham Thanh Trung in village 6, Thanh Thinh commune, Tran Yen district.
These are families heavily affected by the natural disaster caused by storm number 3.
For Thanh Thinh commune, due to the impact of storm No. 3, the locality suffered heavy damage, especially to agricultural production.
The whole commune has 20 houses with housing damage, of which 4 houses need to be repaired, 4 houses completely collapsed, and 12 houses are in urgent need of evacuation.
Currently, all 20 households affected by the storm have received financial support in accordance with the province's policy. The 12 households that were subject to emergency relocation have been resettled and are building houses on schedule according to the province's instructions, striving to complete their new houses before Tet.
Visiting and encouraging households that had to relocate due to natural disasters, Provincial Party Secretary and Provincial People's Committee Chairman Tran Huy Tuan hoped that the families would strive to overcome difficulties, agree and share with local authorities during difficult times after natural disasters.
At the same time, it is requested that local authorities ensure that housing support payments are made to people quickly and in accordance with regulations; support and create the most favorable conditions for people in disaster-hit areas to soon stabilize their lives.
For households that have to move to a new place of residence, quickly complete the procedures to issue Land Use Rights Certificates to the people.
Next, the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province and the working delegation participated in planting mulberry trees with the people of village 3, Thanh Thinh commune, Tran Yen district in "Weekend with the people".
Thanh Thinh is a key mulberry area of Tran Yen district with a total mulberry area of 285 hectares. Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the entire mulberry area was affected, causing great economic losses to mulberry growers and silkworm breeders.
Immediately after the water receded, the locality mobilized people to clear the canal system, ensuring drainage for the mulberry area. At the same time, they instructed people to strip leaves and take care of mulberry trees to get new leaves to feed silkworms.
The fact that Yen Bai provincial leaders went directly to the fields to plant mulberry trees was a great source of encouragement for the people. This was also the motivation for the agricultural sector of Tran Yen district to recover after the storm, compensating for the damage caused by natural disasters.
