According to the People's Committee of Tay Son district, when the National Target Program on New Rural Development was first implemented, the district had a relatively low starting point. On average, each commune only met 7 to 8 criteria, the average income per capita was below 16 million VND, the rate of poor and near-poor households was over 15%, and rural infrastructure development was not uniform.

After more than 13 years of implementation, the district's socio-economy has developed remarkably, and the rural landscape has improved a lot. By the end of 2023, the total value of the district's products reached over 7,000 billion VND; the district's annual budget revenue always reached and exceeded the provincial estimate; the multidimensional poverty rate in the district decreased to 3.57%. The total mobilized capital for new rural construction is 17,200 billion VND.

Up to now, the district has 14/14 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 2 communes have met advanced new rural standards and the Prime Minister decided to recognize Tay Son district as meeting new rural standards in 2023.

At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee - assessed that after nearly 15 years of implementing the program, the appearance of Binh Dinh's new rural areas is changing dramatically. Up to now, Binh Dinh has 91/113 communes meeting new rural standards; 5 district-level units have been recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards/completing new rural tasks. And today, Tay Son district is recognized as meeting new rural standards in 2023, this is an honor and pride for the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc said that up to now, the whole country has about 6,300 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 77.2%; of which, 2,163 communes have met advanced new rural standards and 471 communes have met model new rural standards...

Regarding the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction, Binh Dinh has exceeded the national average and is among the top performers in the country.

"Tay Son district achieving new rural standards is a great joy. But I think an even greater joy is how to achieve a model new rural area and develop in a sustainable, advanced, and modern way," Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc directed.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc suggested that in the coming time, the locality must further transform its structure, including the structure of fields and industries; form large, specialized, high-productivity production areas and apply high technology to production to create many products; build many economic models to help people escape poverty... aiming for a higher goal of no more poor households in Binh Dinh.

On the same morning, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, along with the Central Working Group and leaders of Binh Dinh province, offered flowers and incense at Quang Trung Museum (Tay Son district).
