On February 27, information from the Ministry of Public Security said that from March 1, 2025, the task of ensuring aviation security will officially be directed by the Ministry of Public Security to organize implementation.
The aviation security force is organized by the Ministry of Public Security to implement measures to ensure aviation security and provide aviation security services at airports and cargo handling and mailing facilities to be brought onto aircraft.
The aviation security force under the Ministry of Public Security receives 2 out of 3 functions of aviation security control, including: State management in the field of aviation security assurance;
Providing aviation security services at airports, airports and cargo handling and handling facilities for boarding on aircraft.
The Ministry of Public Security coordinates with the Ministry of Transport to study and propose the arrangement of officers and employees in positions to ensure smooth work, without interruption or emptiness, and gradually perfect the aviation security force according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.
Establish a National Aviation Security Center (based on the organization and reconstruction of the existing above-ground Security Department) under the Department of Immigration Management to operate the provision of aviation security services at airports and air handling facilities for goods and mailing to be brought onto aircraft.
Regarding equipment, means, techniques and logistical conditions, finance, and assets for performing aviation security tasks at the Ministry of Public Security: The Ministry of Public Security closely coordinates with the Ministry of Transport and the State Capital Management Board at ACV enterprises and related units to implement.
During the implementation process, the Ministry of Public Security has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Transport, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and related units to discuss, agree on the contents, forms, and methods of handover and receipt, and have documents to guide local unit police, especially in the assignment, decentralization, implementation of tasks and allocation of human resources.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security assigned the Immigration Department to receive and perform the following tasks: perform the function of state management in the field of aviation security assurance; provide security assurance services at airports, airports and cargo and handling facilities to ship.
The provincial level assigned the Immigration Department under the Public Security of 17 provinces and centrally run cities with airports and airports to perform the task of supervising aviation security and directly performing the task of controlling aviation security, including: Quang Ninh (Van Don), Hai Phong (Cat Bi), Hue (Phu Bai), Can Tho (Can Tho), Lam Dong (Lien Khuong), Dak Lak (Buon Me Thuot), Kien Giang (Rach Gia), Ca Mau (Ca Mau), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (Con Dao), Binh Dinh (Phu Cat), Gia Lai (Pleiku), Phu Yen (Tuy Hoa), Quang Nam (Chu Lai), Quang Binh (Dong Hoi Dien), Dien (Dien Bien), Nghe An (Ven Bien), Thanh Xuan (Ven Thanh).
