Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Minh Tri - Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court (SPC).
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Linh - Director of the Supreme People's Court's Organization and Personnel Department - announced the decision of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court to appoint Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky to the position of Chief Justice of the Hanoi People's Court.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky was born in 1975, and was the secretary for Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and currently Permanent Deputy Prime Minister.
In November 2021, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky was appointed Assistant to Politburo member, Central Committee Secretary, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh.
On December 1, 2022, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky was appointed as Chief of Office of the Supreme People's Court. Then, on February 6, 2023, he was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Office of the Supreme People's Court for the 2020-2025 term.
He is currently the Chief Justice of the Hanoi People's Court, which has the largest number of cases/incidents to be resolved in the country, including many "big cases". In the first 6 months of 2024, the two-level court in Hanoi handled nearly 24,000 cases/incidents.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky's predecessor was Judge Nguyen Huu Chinh (born in 1963). Mr. Chinh has held the position of Chief Justice of the Hanoi People's Court since 2015. He is a member of the 15th National Assembly; Member of the National Assembly's Judicial Committee; Secretary of the Personnel Committee; Member of the Hanoi Party Committee.
