Reappointing Mr. Tran Van Thuan to the position of Deputy Minister of Health

Mr. Tran Van Thuan was reappointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Health.

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 716/QD-TTg dated April 4, 2025 to re-appoint Mr. Tran Van Thuan to the position of Deputy Minister of Health.

The term of appointment is 5 years. The decision takes effect from April 29, 2025.

Previously, in Decision No. 600/QD-TTg dated April 29, 2020, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Tran Van Thuan to the position of Deputy Minister of Health.

Mr. Tran Van Thuan was born in 1970, from Bac Ninh, is a PhD majoring in cancer, and has been a professor since 2018.

According to Decision No. 2035/QD-BYT, Mr. Tran Van Thuan directly directs the fields of medical examination and treatment: Rehabilitation; Safety of blood transfusion; Maternal and children's health; Intensive medical development and high technology; donating, taking tissue and body parts; protection and health care for central officials; Medical activities for major conferences of the Party and the State; health insurance; prevention and control of tobacco harms; Youth work of the health sector; The coordination with the Central Vietnam Red Cross Association.

Participating in Steering Committees and Central inter-sectoral coordination organizations according to assigned fields.
