On July 30, the Ministry of Public Security held a briefing conference to assess the situation and results of work in July, and to implement key tasks to ensure security and order in August.
At the conference, a handover and assignment ceremony took place between Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security and Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Previously, the Minister of Public Security had issued a decision on the appointment of the position of Head of the Investigation Security Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Also at the conference, Major General Dang Hong Duc - Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security stated that in July, the police force seriously and effectively implemented the directives of the Central Committee, the Government, and the National Assembly, issuing many programs and plans to ensure political security and maintain social order and safety.
In July, the Ministry of Public Security directed the launch of a peak campaign to attack and suppress human trafficking crimes in 2024, continuing to vigorously carry out the campaign to propagate and combat high-tech crimes.
As a result, the police force investigated and solved more than 3,570 social order crime cases, arrested and handled more than 7,100 subjects; dismantled 3 criminal gangs; arrested and handled more than 590 gambling cases, involving more than 2,400 subjects.
The Ministry of Public Security also accelerated the investigation of cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena.
In July, the police force rescued 119 people from fires, accidents, and incidents.
Many collectives, individuals, and grassroots police units achieved outstanding achievements in work and combat, helping the people. Many examples of brave officers and soldiers in rescue and relief efforts, doing many good deeds, were praised by leaders at all levels and the people.
