Lang Son - Vietnam Defense Minister Phan Van Giang has liped the milestone 1116, opening the 9th Vietnam -China Defense Friendship Exchange.

On the morning of April 16, at Huu Nghi International Border Gate (Lang Son), General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Defense - joined the high -ranking delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam to perform the ritual of greeting and applying lipstick milestone 1116, officially starting the Vietnam -China Border Friendship Exchange Program for the 9th China.

Immediately after the ceremony, the Vietnamese delegation went to Huu Nghi international border gate to go to China, participated in the series of exchanges in the Guangxi Choang Ethnic Autonomous Region on April 16 and 17.

Attending the delegation were Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Defense; Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh - Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; with the representative of Lang Son province.

On the Chinese side, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in many activities within the framework of the exchange program such as visiting the Huu Nghi Quan tourist area, visiting the Border Guard of Huu Nghi Quan border gate, witnessing the online report of the Navy Patrol Team before conducting a combined patrol.

The activities of planting friendship, visiting Smart border gates, visiting the No. 4 Primary School in Bang Tuong City, visiting Chu Lien Mau Lien village (Ninh Minh district) are also held.

Initially in 2014, the Vietnam -China Border Friendship Exchange is one of the key defense foreign affairs activities between the two countries.

Through 9 times of organization, the program has marked with practical activities such as joint patrols, humanitarian medical examination and treatment, friendship planting, cultural exchanges, sports, school visits ... thereby contributing to strengthening political confidence, strengthening defense cooperation and building a peaceful, stable and sustainable border.

The 9th exchange took place in a special context, right after the state visit to Vietnam of General Secretary, Chinese President Xi Jinping and right on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This emphasizes the general determination of the two parties, the two states and the people of the two countries in cultivating traditional friendship, bringing the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership of Vietnam - China to continue deep and effective development.
