On April 13, Mr. Chau Viet Tha - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City signed a document to the People's Committees of districts and People's Committees of communes, wards and townships, announcing the time to organize voters' opinions on the project of arranging and merging administrative units (DVHC) at the provincial and commune level.

Earlier, on 6.4.2025, the Department of Home Affairs issued Official Letter No. 692 guiding some contents in the process of collecting voters for the above project. According to the original plan, the expected time for collection is expected to take place in April 15 and 16.4.2025. However, in order to ensure the uniformity and initiative in the organization, the Department of Home Affairs now officially announces the time to organize the opinion of voters as April 16, 2025.

Also according to the plan, the People's Committee of Can Tho City will issue specific guiding documents and send the draft project, including a summary, to localities on April 14, 2025. After collecting voters' opinions, localities will hold a meeting of the People's Council to approve the content:
Accordingly, on the morning of April 17, 2025, the commune People's Council held a meeting; In the afternoon of the same day is the district level.
Localities need to complete the dossier and documents and send them to the Department of Home Affairs before April 18, 2025 to promptly summarize and submit to the competent authority for consideration.
The gathering of voters is an important step to ensure consensus in the process of implementing the project of arranging and merging administrative units in the city.
