On the afternoon of February 27, at the Government headquarters, a Government Standing Committee Conference on Working with Vietnamese small and medium enterprises was held with the theme "The State makes, small and medium enterprises make a breakthrough in Vietnam in the new era".
The conference was attended by leaders of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, a number of industry associations, and representatives of 150 small and medium-sized enterprises and 20 commercial banks.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the regional and international situation is changing very quickly, is Polarising, multilateralism is threatened; at the same time, the digital and greening process, risks such as population aging, resource depletion, extreme climate change... require us to adapt flexibly, appropriately and effectively.
In 2024, in the overall achievements of the country, there will be contributions from the business community, including small and medium enterprises.
According to the Prime Minister, in 2025, the international and regional situation will continue to be complicated, but the requirements will be higher, with a growth target of at least 8%, creating momentum, creating force, creating a position for the double-digit growth target in the coming years, requiring the entire political system, the entire people and the business community to strive, get involved, promote the mechanism of Party leadership, state management, and people's mastery.
Recently, the Government Standing Committee has had meetings with state-owned enterprises, commercial banks, large private enterprises and today continued to meet with small and medium enterprises to promote growth targets.

The head of the Government assessed that the Vietnamese business community is mostly small and medium-sized. The Government is drafting a new resolution to submit to the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee on the development of private enterprises.
The Prime Minister suggested that delegates assess the current situation of small and medium-sized enterprises; discuss frankly, discuss, orient a number of major tasks, identify bottlenecks and bottlenecks that need to be removed, propose tasks and solutions for implementation, the spirit of working together, enjoying together, winning together, and developing together.
The consistent requirement is to develop quickly but must be sustainable on the basis of political stability, ensuring social security, not sacrificing progress, fairness, social security and the environment to pursue growth alone.
