On July 19, according to VNA, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and decide on the dismissal of Mr. Do Duc Duy - a delegate of the 15th National Assembly of the Lao Cai Provincial National Assembly Delegation from his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly and related legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent authorities; based on the submission of the Standing Committee of the Delegation Work Committee; considering the application for dismissal from the duties of a National Assembly delegate dated July 16, 2025 of Mr. Do Duc Duy, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted secretly to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1769/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the dismissal of Mr. Do Duc Duy, a National Assembly delegate of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Lao Cai Province.
Previously, on July 17, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, after reviewing the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo found that: Mr. Do Duc Duy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Environment - during his tenure as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks.
Mr. Do Duc Duy violated the principle of democratic centralism, working regulations; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing serious consequences, bad public opinion, and reducing the prestige of the Party organization and the agency or unit.
Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violation; according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Politburo decided to discipline Mr. Do Duc Duy with a Warning.
The President issued Decision No. 1355/QD-CTN dated July 17, 2025, temporarily suspending the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2021-2026 term from July 17, 2025 for Mr. Do Duc Duy until the 15th National Assembly dismissed Mr. Do Duc Duy from the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment for the 2021-2026 term according to regulations.
According to the announcement of the 12th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee, the 13th Party Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Do Duc Duy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, cease to hold the position of Member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
