The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on the afternoon of March 6, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Prime Minister of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev on an official visit to Vietnam from March 6-7, 2025.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam will always remember the support and assistance of the people of the Soviet Union, including the people of Kyrgyzstan, for Vietnam in the cause of national liberation, economic construction and development; emphasized that the visit is of great significance, opening a new page for the relationship between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan, contributing to the determination of the leaders of the two countries in further strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields.
Prime Minister Akylbek Kasymaliev affirmed that Kyrgyzstan always attaches importance to and gives Vietnam good feelings, highly appreciates Vietnam's role in the region and the world; wishes to further promote the good traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
President Luong Cuong and the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan agreed to continue to strengthen political trust, increase delegation exchanges, high-level meetings and contacts and at all levels through all channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, central ministries, branches, localities, socio-political organizations and peoples of the two countries.
Recognizing the positive growth trend of bilateral trade in recent years, President Luong Cuong said that the figure is still too modest compared to the total trade turnover of each country and the potential and strengths of both sides in this field; at the same time, he emphasized that ministries, branches and functional agencies of the two countries need to strengthen coordination to concretize the determination and agreements of the two countries' senior leaders to promote cooperation in all fields, especially trade - investment, education - training, science - technology, transportation, energy, mining, promoting cultural exchanges...
Discussing international and regional issues of mutual concern, the two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums. President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam supports and is ready to act as a bridge for Kyrgyzstan to expand relations with countries in Southeast Asia as well as with the ASEAN organization.
Regarding the East Sea issue, President Luong Cuong emphasized the importance of maritime security and safety and suggested that Kyrgyzstan support ASEAN and Vietnam's stance on the East Sea, on the basis of compliance with international law, especially the United Nations Charter and UNCLOS 1982.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan conveyed to President Luong Cuong the greetings and best wishes of President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, and respectfully conveyed the letter of President Japarov inviting President Luong Cuong to visit Kyrgyzstan.
The President thanked Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and assigned the two foreign ministries to arrange the visit at a time suitable for both sides.
President Luong Cuong thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Kyrgyzstan for their attention and facilitation and suggested that Kyrgyzstan continue to support the Vietnamese community to live and do business stably in Kyrgyzstan, serving as a bridge to promote relations between the two countries.
