According to VNA, successfully concluding the official visit to the Republic of Singapore, on the afternoon of December 3 local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, along with a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, left Changi Airport in Singapore for an official visit to Japan from December 3-7, 2024.
Seeing off the delegation at Changi Airport in Singapore were: MP Don Wee - member of the Singapore - Southeast Asia Friendship Parliamentarians Group; Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung; and a number of officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore.
During his visit to Singapore, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and held talks with Singaporean Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng.
At the talks and meetings, the leaders of the two countries affirmed that the Vietnam-Singapore relationship has continuously developed, reaching many important milestones in all fields; agreed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to coordinate closely, soon bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new height.
With practical activities, the official visit to Singapore by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man was a great success, contributing to promoting parliamentary cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Singaporean National Assembly in a practical and sustainable manner, thereby contributing to promoting the Vietnam - Singapore Strategic Partnership, consolidating the friendship and effective and substantive cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore in all fields.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife paid an official visit to Japan at the invitation of President of the Japanese House of Councilors Sekiguchi Masakazu and his wife.
The visit took place on the occasion of Vietnam and Japan celebrating the first anniversary of upgrading their relationship to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World” in November. Vietnam-Japan relations continue to develop strongly and comprehensively in all fields with high political trust and close exchanges at high and all levels.
During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is expected to meet with the Japanese Emperor; hold talks with the President of the Senate; have meetings with the Prime Minister, the President of the House of Representatives, leaders of several major parties, and leaders of major economic organizations in Japan; meet with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Japan; and visit Nagasaki.
