National Assembly Chairman meets with Cambodian King

On the afternoon of November 23, at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had an audience with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.

According to VNA, King Norodom Sihamoni warmly welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, who led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State, to pay an official visit to Cambodia and attend the 12th Plenary Session of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP); emphasizing that the visit significantly contributes to strengthening the special neighborly relationship between the two countries.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man was pleased to note that after 20 years of the King's wise reign, the Cambodian people have achieved important achievements in the political, economic and social fields; especially the people's lives have improved day by day; Cambodia's international role and position have been increasingly enhanced in the region and the world.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Party, State, National Assembly and people of Vietnam will do their utmost together with Cambodia to continue to foster the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” to meet the aspirations of the people of the two countries.

King Norodom Sihamoni and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man were pleased to see that the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia is constantly developing well.

King Norodom Sihamoni affirmed that historical tradition has shown that the late King Norodom Sihanouk and President Ho Chi Minh laid the foundation and built a solid bridge of friendship for the good relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Today, Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet and other senior Cambodian leaders are the ones who continue and promote that traditional cooperative, solidarity and friendly relationship.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that over the past time, the King and Royal Family of Cambodia have always had warm feelings and made great contributions to the development of relations between the two countries.

The leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam always appreciate the deep affection that the King and Queen Mother have for Vietnam and wish to welcome the King and Queen Mother to visit Vietnam.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that during his visit to Cambodia, he had effective talks with National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary and meetings with Senate President Samdech Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Party, State, National Assembly and people of Vietnam will do their utmost together with Cambodia to continue to foster the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” to meet the aspirations of the people of the two countries.

The National Assembly of Vietnam, together with the Senate and the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will continue to strengthen cooperation in legislation, supervision and decision-making on major national issues.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hopes that King Norodom Sihamoni will continue to pay attention, and together with senior Cambodian leaders, direct the removal of difficulties and obstacles, create conditions for naturalization for those who are qualified, and create favorable conditions for people of Vietnamese origin to live and do business stably and legally in Cambodia, integrate well with the local community, and serve as a bridge of friendship between the two countries.
