On October 14, continuing the 38th Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the preparation for the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
It is expected that the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly will work for 28.5 days, opening on October 21 and closing on November 30 (conducted in 2 phases, phase 1 from October 21 to November 13; phase 2 from November 20 to November 30, 2024).
After listening to the General Secretary of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong briefly present the Report on the preparation for the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the preparation work for the session; at the same time, gave some comments on the organization and arrangement of time to receive and revise the draft law.
Regarding the preparation of documents, Minister, Chairman of the Office of the Government Tran Van Son said that the Prime Minister has issued 15 documents urging ministries and branches to promptly prepare documents to submit to the National Assembly at the upcoming 8th session.
There are still some documents related to draft laws and investment projects that are included in the Law and Ordinance Development Program. The Prime Minister is directing relevant agencies to urgently complete the Submissions and drafts to soon submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly.
Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assessed that the document preparation work has made much progress so far; 120/150 documents have been received, showing the efforts of relevant agencies.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also directed some contents related to the addition to the proposed agenda of the 8th session, with the spirit that only well-prepared draft laws will be included in the proposed agenda of the session. The Government and agencies, according to their functions and tasks, must urgently complete documents and strictly implement the session's regulations.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man assigned the Delegation Affairs Committee to carefully prepare personnel work; the People's Aspirations Committee to coordinate with agencies to effectively perform the work of receiving citizens and handling petitions and complaints during the session.
The Secretary General of the National Assembly urgently coordinates with the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees to advise the National Assembly Standing Committee to consider and decide on the group of questions for questioning.
The Secretary General of the National Assembly receives comments and completes the proposed meeting agenda. For necessary content, he will seek opinions at the meeting of the National Assembly Party Delegation with the Government.
"The 8th session will work in the spirit of innovation in law-making thinking, not legalizing decrees and circulars, to gradually improve the professionalism and quality of law-making work," emphasized National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
