This morning (September 18), in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the country for 3 years (2023 - 2025) held a press conference on activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Co-chairing the press conference were Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Dinh Thi Mai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang; Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy.
The 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is a particularly important and national political event. The event was implemented by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Organizing Committee said that the following key activities will take place in Ho Chi Minh City:
1. The national celebration program will be held at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, 2025 on Le Duan Street, District 1 and some central streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
The parade and march program chaired by the Ministry of National Defense includes: 4 parade blocks of Nghi Truong block; 36 parade blocks; 12 parade blocks. There are plans to be parades of Laos and Cambodia during the celebration.
The program is broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local Radio and Television stations.
2. Ho Chi Minh City will organize an incense offering ceremony and flower offering to commemorate the heroic martyrs at 08:00 on April 29, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery, City Cemetery (Lac Canh), Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, Cu Chi District Martyrs' Cemetery, Ho Chi Minh City Policy Cemetery (Cu Chi District); National Historical Site of Nga Ba Giong (Hoc Mon District).
The incense offering and flower offering ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang on April 29, 2025 at the central and city levels.
3. On April 19-30, 2025, the City will organize many celebration activities:
The " Colors of Uncle Ho's City" festival will be held from April 19 to April 30, 2025. The highlight is the 3D Mapping art performance at the facade of the City People's Committee headquarters, combining lighting, sound and symphony - harmony music.
In particular, on the night of April 19, 2,000 drones (Drone) were displayed, combined with artistic fireworks to light up the city's sky, bringing a spectacular experience to the audience.
The film exhibition "Remembering the Great Spring of the Storm of the Year 1975", with 300 valuable documentary photos, will air community films on the nights of April 27 and 28 at the Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke stage.
The special art program "Real Unity Day" was held and broadcast live nationwide at the Unity Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, on the evening of April 30, 2025.
4. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Ministry and central branches to organize art programs to celebrate:
Outdoor art program "The land of joy" on April 20, 2025 at Thong Nhat Hall.
Special concert program with the theme "Peace Symphony" on the evening of April 21, 2025 at the City Theater.
National television bridge "Vang Mai Khuc Khai Quat" on April 27, 2025 at the Ho Chi Minh City bridge point.
The special art program was chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City on April 29, 2025, in front of Thong Nhat Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
The flute performance combined with horse-racing performances chaired by the Ministry of Public Security is scheduled to be held on April 30, 2025 in the Le Loi Street and Nguyen Hue walking path area.
5. In addition, the City plans to organize a variety of celebration activities on Saturday evenings of April 19 and 26, 2025 and key days of April 29 and 30, 2025 on the Nguyen Hue walking path, Ben Bach Dang - Saigon River area; Districts: 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, Tan Phu, Binh Tan; Districts: Can Gio, Nha Be and Thu Duc City.
To facilitate international press agencies, Ho Chi Minh City will organize "Journalism Week" from April 25 to May 1, 2025 for foreign reporters who are war reporters; reporters from countries that support Vietnam in the war; overseas reporters to express gratitude for the contributions and support for Vietnam in the war.
The city also coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism to organize 3 typical tours for reporters about the Cities of Crafts: "Legend of the Special Forces Heroes of Sac Forest"; "Cu Chi, steel land in bronze: Geography in the land"; "From Mau Than to Xuan Dai won". The expected time is April 24, 25, and 26, 2025.
6. Ho Chi Minh City also directed departments, localities, and units to organize the implementation of a peak communication campaign for the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, in 2 phases (phase 1: from April 7, 2025 - April 25, 2025; phase 2: from April 26, 2025 - May 2, 2025) to create a good influence to the masses.
