On November 14, the An Giang Provincial People's Council held the 5th session (special session) to approve important draft resolutions.
In particular, through the submission of a draft resolution on the Decision on policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement the Phu Quoc 220kV Transformer Station Project.
The area approved for the policy of converting forest use to other purposes is more than 4.6 hectares of protective forest in sub-zone 78, Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province.
According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, the Phu Quoc 220kV Transformer Station project has the project investor, the Southern Power Project Management Board. The total project implementation area is more than 4.9 hectares, the proposed area for changing the purpose of forest use is more than 4.6 hectares (all of which are of natural forest origin, currently this location is no longer planned for forestry purposes).
Phu Quoc 220kV transformer station was invested and built to reduce the load and avoid overloading MBA 220/110kV in normal operation mode and incident mode N-1 of Kien Binh 220kV transformer station. Ready to receive electricity from the 220kV Kien Binh - Phu Quoc line when converting the 110kV power supply to 220kV, completing the connection to the 110kV power grid in Phu Quoc.
